A render is not a listening judgment.

Creative work offers a concrete test of provenance: an artifact, a comparison, and a decision are different things.

The artifact and the account of it

A successful audio render establishes that a file was produced. An analysis report adds an account of that file. A listener’s judgment is another source of evidence. None should be silently substituted for the others.

This makes creative work a useful setting for studying continuity. The system must preserve the artifact, remember the unresolved question, and attribute feedback to its actual source.

Comparison without erasure

Recent internal engineering work added a reusable A/B audition path that preserves the original audio while making a comparison available. The relevant project record also retains a listening question across continuation.

The public point is not the private composition. It is the discipline of keeping the source material, alternative, interpretation, and decision distinguishable.

Feedback belongs to its source

A model-generated description should remain a model-generated description. A person’s response should remain that person’s testimony. Neither becomes the system’s firsthand hearing simply because it enters a shared context.

A useful next step may be a revised choice. It may also be a decision to keep both versions, seek another comparison, or leave the question open.

What remains to be demonstrated

The reviewed record supports an operational creative collaboration and preservation of a continuation question. It does not establish an independently measured improvement in long-term creative judgment or a general learning policy.

Those questions require later decisions, an appropriate comparison, and enough evidence to distinguish development from a convincing description of development.
